BioTalent Student Work Placement Program with Medicure

Junior Digital Media Designer Co-Op Studentship

The Junior Digital Media Designer co-op position is responsible for the creation of both marketing assets and content created to support Medicure’s product portfolio and other marketing goals. This candidate will work closely with our Design Team and Medical Marketing Projects Manager to improve our users experience by bringing our brand to life and keeping it consistent across all our various touchpoints. This co-op placement will be full-time up to a maximum of 16 weeks.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an intimate understanding of our brand message and tone to accurately capture in design through website design, media assets, video and photo form
  • Collaborate with marketing and product marketing teammates to support creation of new content
  • Help bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team using your expertise and eye for great design
  • Scope and create templates for our marketing team to be more efficient in some of their posting on social media, the blog, email, and other channels
  • Manage other design needs such as presentations, signage, and trade show collateral as needed
  • Develop an intimate understanding of our brand message and tone to accurately capture in video and photo form

Requirements:

  • Willingness to learn and work as a team
  • Experience in website design and video editing experience is preferred.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite. Experience Adobe Premiere Pro and in Adobe After Effects a major plus. Knowledge of motion graphics preferred.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript preferred
  • Applicants must be a current full-time or part-time student registered in a post-secondary program in Canada
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
  • Be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
  • Successful enrolment into the Student Work Placement Program with BioTalent Canada (successful candidates will be guided through this process once selected)
  • Applicants must consent to release co-op employment information to BioTalent Canada and the Government of Canada periodically during the placement and after the end of the placement.

2020 Grad Show

It’s been a strange few weeks for us all. As many of you have heard, the 2020 Red River College Design Show, our annual event at the Roblin Centre was cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus.

The students have been working hard to find new ways to showcase their work. You can check out our student work via our Instagram and portfolio websites.

Print Studio One in Steinbach is looking for a creative and dedicated individual to join their team.

Print Studio One and Three-Six North Marketing partners with clients to build their brands across physical and digital platforms, connecting people to products and services that enrich their lives.

The candidate selected would be part of an internal design team that works with local and international brands on a diverse range of projects—from visual identities and websites to physical media like digital print pieces and large format installations. Design team members have the opportunity to operate digital printing equipment, shoot photography, video and other tasks as skillsets align.

  • Diploma in Graphic Design (or equivalent)
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in graphic design – including web, social, and email
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and Acrobat as well as Microsoft Office and Google Docs/Sheets – all in a Mac environment
  • Working knowledge of HTML
  • Experience with SalesForce Marketing Cloud, SQL, After Effects not required but would be an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – a collaborative team player, processes suggestions and corrections positively, shares and receives feedback professionally
  • Strong organizational skills – able to balance competing priorities and shift between projects seamlessly, meets project deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Curious and self-motivated – a resourceful problem solver, interested in fashion, current trends/techniques in graphic design, and the future of digital marketing
  • Keen eye for detail – proofreading layouts, retouching photos, ensuring all required elements are included

Thursday, November 28 from 10am to1:30pm

Friday, November 29 from 10 am to 2 pm

We are selling a collection of student illustrated posters created over the past few years. We’ll have posters from the Iconic Winnipeg series, Quotables series and a collection of illustrated letters.

Prices are $10/poster or 3 for $25. There will also be a limited number of framed prints available for $30. Cash only please.

 

Graphic Designer

Graphic Designer – Full Time

Responsibilities;

  • To provide the sales associates, on a user pay basis, with results oriented advertising designed to meet their client’s objectives and help promote themselves in the competitive real estate industry.
  • To use the marketing media currently available, by offering quality marketing solutions in a timely manner.

Specific Duties;

  • Create multiple types of marketing print materials for our agents, such as: property information brochures, direct mail advertising campaigns, business cards, and create branding for individual agents.
  • Create multiple types of digital marketing campaigns, such as: social media ads for our agents, property websites, etc.
  • Create marketing materials for our office, including our monthly Commercial Sales Report, and promotional materials for recruiting purposes, and materials that our agents can use.
  • Our office includes it’s own print shop with a press printer, so you would also be responsible for printing all materials and shipping orders to Canada Post.

Requirements;

  • Be responsible for communicating effectively one-on-one with our sales associates.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
  • Have a diploma or degree in Graphic Design/Digital Media Design.
  • Comfortable and efficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Products including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • 1-2 years experience is preferred.

Learn UX and Interface Design

User experience, or UX for short, refers to how a person interacts with a company or brand. This includes interactions with websites, mobile apps, social media, as well as actual face-to-face interaction.
In DMD, we teach the key principles of designing a great user experience. We also teach about responsive web design, or designing for an equally great user experience across a wide range of devices (mobile, tablets, desktops, etc).
