Job Summary & Scope

Reporting to the Art Director, you will work collaboratively with other members of the Sherpa team to create and deliver high quality brand/print/web/mobile/video and application user experiences.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Designing, testing, documenting and deploying high performance creative that drives ROI for Sherpa’s clients using a variety of tools and techniques
  • Working independently
  • Ensuring projects meets company standards
  • Deliver tasks within given deadlines and budgets

Required Competencies

  • Execute graphic design and production responsibilities in a matter that is both professional and accurate, while adhering to the graphic standards of our clients.
  • Work directly on design projects through conception, creation and production creating print and online marketing materials.
  • Work on projects that require advanced layout skills and file preparation with a very high degree of accuracy.
  • Provide support to other graphic designers on collaborative projects.
  • Great portfolio of work

  • Diligence and commitment to Quality Assurance and self-assessment of your own work
  • User Experience/User Interface Design for Web/Apps

Technical Requirements

  • Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Windows
  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Bonus Skills

  • Adobe Premiere, After Effects
  • Lightroom
  • Cinema 4D
  • HTML, CSS, WordPress

Other Duties as Required

  • Employees are expected to help fill any gaps in work as each person’s capabilities allow.
  • Occasional travel may be required

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in graphic design/digital media

User Experience (UX) Analyst & Designer

Are you driven to help clients design software that they will love using?

The Imaginet team is seeking a UX Analyst & Designer local in the Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada) area. In this role for a UX Analyst & Designer, you will use your experience with user design methodologies using agile delivery to provide both creative and analytical ideas to support and improve user experiences. In client engagements, you will need to interview stakeholders, facilitate group workshops, provide mockups and wireframes, as well as gather requirements to articulate process flows and user interactions. You will also need to collaborate with the software development team to develop your wireframes and prototypes into a working product for an amazing user experience.

Critical Competencies for Success: Analytical, creative, passionate about UX.

Travel will be required (ability to travel to and from Canada and US). Imaginet does not sponsor work visas, and we are only considering candidates local in Canada.

Annual First Friday Print Sale

November 15, 2018

Our annual Graphic Design Student Print Show and Sale is on again as part of First Fridays in the Exchange. Friday December 7 from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm at the Exchange District Campus, Buhler Learning Commons at the corner of William and Princess. Please enter through the William Ave doors.

This year’s print theme will be famous quotes. Prices are $15/print or 3 prints for $40. We also have a limited number of framed prints available at $50 each. Cash only please.

Prints will be on display in the Roblin atrium on Thursday December 6 and Friday December 7. We will be pre-selling unframed prints from 10 am to 2 pm both days. Below are the 46 prints being offered for sale. Each one is approximately 12″ x 15.75″.

Graphic Design is holding an information night for students, parents and high school staff who would like more information about admission to our program. No need to register. The evening will begin with a presentation in the lecture theatre at 7 pm.

After the presentation we invite you to:
• tour our design studios,
• meet with instructors, and current students,
• ask questions about the entrance portfolio
• view samples of work.

Grad Show 2018

Come join us for the 2018 edition of our Grad Show.
The show is open to the public all day Wednesday May 2 and Thursday May 3, 2018. Industry and former grads are invited to our Industry night on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm. GDA Students in Toronto

GDA Toronto
All 13 students in the Graphic Design Advanced program flew to Toronto to attend the Design Thinkers Conference November 3 & 4. The students put togerther a video explaining why they wanted to come and won one of four $500 scholarships to put towards their cost.
DesignThinkers delves into industry trends with visionaries from a range of communications-related disciplines including design, user experience, advertising, branding, consumer engagement, film, social media and entrepreneurship. Sessions teach delegates how to create effective communications by exploring cutting-edge innovation, the latest technology, demographic and ethnographic trends, strategic management techniques, cognitive theory and much more.

RRC Polytech campuses are located on the lands of Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, Anishininew, Dakota, and Dené, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

We recognize and honour Treaty 3 Territory Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, the source of Winnipeg’s clean drinking water. In addition, we acknowledge Treaty Territories which provide us with access to electricity we use in both our personal and professional lives.
