The Building Efficiency Technology Access Centre (BETAC) supports the building industry by helping clients address the challenges of designing and constructing durable, energy-efficient building envelopes, components and assembly in an environment with extreme conditions. Our core purpose is to support the needs of those involved in the design, construction, renovation, commissioning and maintenance of a building. We’re here for Manitoba. Building Airtightness Training

Learn from experts whose experience ranges from applied research-related to energy efficiency, field observation, commercial and residential airtightness testing, commissioning, education, training and more.

Air, Water and Structural Chamber Testing

Evaluate your building envelope components, windows and doors for airtightness, water penetration and structural deflection prior to their use in actual construction.

Environmental Chamber for Thermal Testing

BETAC has access to two sets of environmental chambers to evaluate thermal performance of windows, doors and mock-up wall systems — one medium-scale set of two side-by-side chambers and another large-scale chamber.

Public Funding Opportunities for Research and Development

BETAC and RRC Polytech have access to college-related public grants to support the development of applied research, technical services and training in the local industries.

   We serve small- and medium-sized enterprises to support industry growth; we also partner with larger organizations for projects ranging from large-building airtightness testing to training and more.

   We have access to a pool of grants from different funding sources that support innovative services and products, applied research and industry training.
