Federal government seeking proposals for $120-million in electric vehicle charging stations

Today, the Honourable Jim Carr, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, officially announced the $120-million investment expand the coast-to-coast network of electric vehicle fast chargers on the national highway system, continue to deploy natural gas refuelling stations along key freight corridors and establish hydrogen stations in key metropolitan centres.The funding, which is part of Phase 2 of the Green Infrastructure Fund, will support not only the deployment of electric chargers; natural gas and hydrogen refuelling stations; but also demonstration projects of new, innovative charging technologies; and the development of codes and standards.
Proposals are now being accepted for both deployment and demonstration projects.

We recognize and honour Treaty 3 Territory Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, the source of Winnipeg’s clean drinking water. In addition, we acknowledge Treaty Territories which provide us with access to electricity we use in both our personal and professional lives.
