NSERC’s Science, Action! video contest, deadline Jan. 19

December 19, 2017

NSERC’s Science, Action! video contest offers postsecondary students a chance to win cash prizes. Working alone or in teams, students are challenged to film or animate short, creative videos that tell a simple story about fascinating science. Top prize is $3,500!

Last year, tens of thousands of science fans across Canada watched and shared their favourite videos online. This year, the audience will be even larger: In addition to a cash prize, the top 15 videos will be featured in museum exhibits, shown at public science events, and as part of the Science Odyssey and Science Literacy Week national celebrations.

And there’s more…

We’re excited to announce a new special prize worth $3,000 dollars for videos focused on research related to Canada’s North. This prize is in addition to the Final Fifteen prizes, meaning contestants are eligible for up to two prizes with one video submission! Any video that features research with a strong connection to Canada’s North will be automatically considered. The judges will select one winner.

Show us your science!

Deadline for submissions is January 19, 2018. Visit our website for information on contest rules and more.
