MAY 3 WORKSHOP: Research and Maintenance Opportunities with Building Sensors

April 21, 2017

Please join us for a lunch hour presentation by Gamal Mustapha of SMT Research LTD. in conjunction with Red River College’s Building Envelope Technology Access Centre (BETAC).

Wednesday, May 3rd
Time: 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Green Lecture Theatre (GM43)
2055 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg MB
Presenter: Gamal Mustapha, President, SMT Research LTD.
SMT Research Ltd. and BETAC are currently installing a suite of sensors in the College’s new Skilled Trades and Technology Centre.
The intent of this session is to have an interactive discussion with the College’s staff and faculty to explore ways to maximize the value of the sensors and their data.
There are numerous opportunities for student applied research projects, data communication/sharing and the enhancement of preventative maintenance.
The sensors will be continuously monitoring temperature, moisture, relative humidity and heat flux through various sections of the new building’s roof and walls, as well as in the green roof section.
Specific information on the suite of building sensors and the data that they will generate will be presented.
A light lunch will be served.
