Girls in Motion: Shifting Gears in the Automotive Trades is an immersive, hands-on summer camp designed to introduce young women to the exciting world of automotive technology, heavy-duty mechanics and collision repair.
Campers will have the opportunity to explore transportation trades, gain hands-on experience and build confidence working with tools and machinery. This beginner friendly camp will cover all the basics of automotive repair, heavy-duty mechanics and collision repair with expert mentorship and real-world projects in a fun and supportive environment.
This immersive program offers a unique blend of activities, including metal fabrication and painting, operating heavy-duty equipment, and basic electrical systems.
Campers will engage in a mix of hands-on themed programming and guided recreation activities throughout the campus. Recreation activities include games and sports, creative and artistic projects, team building challenges and more. We aim to go outside at least once per day, weather permitting.
Campers are led through their days by experienced leaders from RRC Polytech.
Girls in Motion camp is offered to marginalized genders including girls and non-binary or gender non-conforming youth who are comfortable in a space that centers the experience around girls.
