But now the world is changing, and the pace of change continues to accelerate like never before.

Today, we need to do more than keep up. We must seize the opportunities that disruption presents by getting in front of what’s ahead.

To understand where we’re going, it’s important to know where we’re coming from.

RRC Polytech fills the critical gap between career ambition and job readiness – a gap that other institutions aren’t addressing, and that Manitoba employers are demanding.

Thanks to our relationships with countless professionals and leaders who power this province, our College is inextricably woven into Manitoba’s economy, the demands of its workforce, and its most pressing challenges and opportunities.

The result? We produce the highest proportion of job-ready graduates of Manitoba’s leading post-secondary institutions:

People with real-world skills and certifications.
People who are retrained or upskilled on new technologies.
People who can think creatively and critically.
People who can contribute on day one and are poised for leadership opportunities in the future.

Our reciprocal partnerships with industry partners provide students with immersive learning experiences, including applied research projects, making the whole province our classroom. Our applied research partnerships solve real-world problems for Manitoba businesses large and small, and help them compete on a global stage.

We educate a significant proportion of Indigenous learners, the fastest-growing workforce demographic in Canada, by helping them to prepare for their careers, and to use their education to contribute to their communities. We also work in consultation with partners to support Indigenous entrepreneurship, a linchpin for Indigenous achievement in the province.

And we are the best choice for Canadian newcomers seeking to integrate into the working economy in meaningful, growing fields, thanks to flexible course design, immersive learning opportunities, and an array of diploma, certificate and degree offerings.

Facing the Future

RRC Polytech’s mission is to elevate people, industry, and community in our province through future-focused polytechnic education, research, and partnerships. Here at home, technological advances and automation are already transforming Manitoba’s industries and labour markets in significant and unpredictable ways. This quickened pace of disruption demands an urgent, agile response.

We urgently need to:

Prepare students in learning environments that replicate a real-world pace of change to ensure they are learning on the latest equipment and in similar conditions that they’ll find on the job.
Grow our outstanding community of instructors, who have the experience and research acumen to translate knowledge and provide career guidance that best reflects Manitoba’s emerging labour market opportunities.
Build our capacity to deliver applied, solutions-focused research thatn can help Manitoba stay steps ahead of incoming changes and position us for success in a globally competitive environment in the decades ahead.
Design and offer a variety of flexible, novel course delivery mechanisms to manage the increasing demand for retraining and job transitioning among those already working in the province.
Continue to seek ways to reconcile a broken trust in our education system and support the key role Indigenous peoples must play for our province to realize its fullest economic potential.
