The purpose of Healthy Minds Healthy College is to become a “Health Promoting College” and to create opportunities for the entire college community to be engaged in fostering a welcoming, safe, and responsive environment, supporting the mental health and well-being of students, faculty, and staff.

The initiative aims to meet the demands of students, faculty, and staff with mental health problems and illness while promoting wellness, recovery and resilience for all.

Healthy Minds Healthy College incorporates a systematic framework to offer evidence-informed options to responding to mental, social, psychological and spiritual needs.

The initiative was established with three goals in mind:

  1. To be a healthy college community
  2. To better meet the mental health needs of the college community
  3. To enhance mental health literacy within the college community
