Cooking for Wellness: A Virtual Cooking Class

Show yourself some love by cooking a delicious and balanced meal!

Learn how to make pork or chicken adobo while cooking alongside your instructor, Abby Legaspi! This workshop is part of the Thrive event series, hosted by the RRCSA and Healthy Minds Healthy College.

Are you interested in a career with the Winnipeg Police Service?

The Winnipeg Police Service is dedicated to working towards a Police Service that represents the community they serve.

The Diversity and Indigenous Partnerships Section will be hosting a 3-hour virtual workshop focused on Indigenous and Diverse community members interested in a career with the Winnipeg Police Service on April 16th, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm via zoom.

The event will include an overview of the organization and a presentation about the application and hiring process. 

Information will be provided on volunteer opportunities, civilian positions, cadets, and police officer opportunities within the Winnipeg Police Service.

If you are interested in attending, please send an email to WPS-communityrelations@winnipeg.ca before April 13th, 2022.

Free Online Workshop: Doing Business in Canada

The workshop will be in TWO parts:

Join Family Fun Night!

It’s Family Fun Night – with a Métis theme in honour of Louis Riel Day! Indigenous Student Supports invites you, your family and friends to join them virtually to play a Métis version of Kahoot! with prizes to be won. It’s Tax Time!

Remember that the due date to file your taxes is April 30th.

Even if you make no money, you should file a tax return each year. If you do not file your taxes, you cannot access many government benefits, such as GST Credit, Working Income Tax Benefit, Provincial Income Tax Credits, and Child Tax Benefits.

Free Activity for Students: Paint Night

Join the RRC Polytech Students’ Association (RRCSA) and Healthy Minds Healthy College (HMHC) for the last paint night of the academic year! 

What is Paint Night?

Paint Night has become very popular in the last couple of years, but if you’ve never been to paint night before, you may find yourself wondering what it is! At its core, paint night is a creative way to hang out with your friends and create a masterpiece!

You Learn to Paint

At paint night, you learn to paint. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a pro painter, there will be an instructor to guide you the whole time! Everyone in the class is working toward creating their own version of the same painting. The teacher will lead you through your painting step-by-step. Our paint nights last two hours.

It’s Therapeutic

Painting is really good for you! Paint night is great for people who love to try new things, meet new people, and explore new sides to themselves.

Need Supplies?

For this virtual paint night, you’re welcome to use your own supplies or sign up to borrow a supply pack. Supply packs will include the canvas, paint, and brushes and can be requested when you register. Brushes and unused paint must be returned to your campus so they can be reused.

We have a limited number of supply packs, so be sure to register early.
