  • Panel and Panels tray buttons, button titles, and tooltips
  • Annotation panel and toolbars

Lynda.com

Accessibility supports:

Lynda.com (Linkedin Learning) videos offer:

  • Screen reader support
  • Closed captioning
  • Text transcripts

Issues:

  • Captions and transcripts: Most new videos will have captions and transcripts. But there is a delay between initial release of the video and the availability of captioning and transcript. Older and less popular videos may not yet have captions or transcripts.
  • Interactive transcript: requires the use of a mouse and will not be accessible to screen reader users. The highlighted text is low-contrast and cause difficulties for people with low vision.
  • Contrast: Some content elements have low contrast. This can be an issue for people with low vision.
  • Semantic order: Many pages are missing level 1 headings. Some headings and elements have issues with semantic order that may prove to be an issue for navigating with a screen reader
  • Flash video: Some older videos may still utilize Flash, so the controls are inaccessible to screen reader users.

Most of the accessibility issues with Lynda.com exist in the navigational pages, while the course video pages are much easier to navigate. If possible, go directly to a course rather than navigating through Lynda.com’s menu system.
