Paramedicine – Advanced Care

The Paramedicine – Advanced Care program is designed to allow practicing primary care paramedics the opportunity to complete most of their studies in a distance delivery format.

Make the most out of a flexible education that adapts to your lifestyle – the academic component of this program has online and in-person activities for blended delivery. In this program, you will also engage in practical training including a field practicum placement, hospital/clinical and community paramedic clinical rotations – both conducted in Winnipeg or in rural Manitoba.

The Paramedicine – Advanced Care program prepares graduates for employment opportunities in Manitoba. This program is based on the National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP) for Paramedicine – Advanced Care Paramedic and the College of Paramedics of Manitoba (NOCP Variances).

The Paramedicine – Advanced Care diploma program builds on the foundational knowledge and expertise of primary care paramedicine. Advanced training allows for a wider range of patient care interventions, community paramedicine and leadership opportunities.

TERM 1

Gain in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of advanced pharmacology, respiratory and cardiac theory.

TERM 2

Continue to advance your skills in advanced trauma and neurologic theory.

TERM 3

Learn about community paramedicine and continue to further your practical training through in-person advanced simulation labs and clinical rotations.

TERM 4

Develop skills in advanced obstetrics and gynecology, neonate and pediatric studies and multi organ systems.

TERM 5

Build on digestive system studies and continue to advance your knowledge of community paramedicine.

TERM 6

Apply your knowledge and sharpen your skills in-person clinical rotations and advanced simulation labs.

TERM 7

Dive into in-person community paramedicine rotations and field practicum to gain practical experience and be career-ready.
