A message to RRC staff from incoming President & CEO Fred Meier

May 6, 2020

Good morning future co-workers!

I am truly excited and humbled to be given an opportunity to join such an important institution here in Manitoba, and to have the opportunity to work alongside such talented, passionate and dedicated people who continue to move Red River College forward.

For more than 80 years, Red River College has played an instrumental role driving our economy, and I look forward to working with all of you as we continue to embrace that spirit of innovation that exists within the walls of every campus.

As Manitoba starts to slowly emerge from the impacts of COVID-19, and we all begin adjusting to our “new normal”, we know that our work will be more important now than it ever was. We need to embrace the opportunity that is emerging from this pandemic. Now will be the time to leverage our creativity and ingenuity to build on the success of the College.

Without question, Red River College is guided by a strong leadership team, with a culture dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and a focus on creating the best outcomes for our students. I want to recognize Dr. Christine Watson and the entire leadership team for developing the College’s response to COVID–19. This is just one example of that culture and commitment.

I know, as we continue to get to know each other and move our institution forward, that we will build on that culture of innovation and work towards greater employee engagement. I look forward to working collaboratively with you to develop a plan for the College that reflects our shared vision and leverages our collective strengths.

I’m extremely fortunate and proud to join such an important Manitoba institution and I look forward to getting to know all of you and working with you this July.

For now, please continue to stay safe and healthy. Keep doing your part to support our students and each other, and flatten the curve.

See you soon.

Fred
