Program Overview

Are you ready to prepare for in-demand career opportunities in the material handling industry? Get job-ready communication skills in this free five-week language pathway that will lead you to enter the Material Handling 4.0 course, a free seven-week micro-credential that will equip you with the tools and skills that employers in warehouses and distribution centres are looking for.

Program Structure

Part 1 — Communication for Materials Handling 4.0

Delivered by RRC Polytech at the Centre for Newcomer Integration.

  • Duration: Five weeks
  • Location: Online
  • Delivery: TBD
  • Fees: No cost 

Part 2 — Materials Handling 4.0 micro-credential

Delivered by RRC Polytech.

  • Duration: Seven weeks
  • Delivery:
    • Weeks 1-3: Online training
    • Weeks 4-7: Online training with an in-person unpaid practicum (multi-industry site visit)
  • Two-week paid work experience

Note: Programs and classes only run if a minimum number of students register.

Eligibility

All applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • A permanent resident in Canada
  • Meets language requirements (CLB 6-7 to enter pathway)
  • Unemployed or working less than 20 hours per week
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Not currently enrolled and no previous post-secondary education in Canada
  • WELARC assessment
