Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Readiness Assessment
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Readiness Assessment (AMERA) is used for entry into the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer program.
This assessment should be completed before applying to the program to ensure you meet the required score.
Test Details
Note: This test is eligible to be completed in-person at the Assessment Centre or online (remotely). See registration page for details.
The AMERA has four sub-tests:
Listening: this sub-test involves answering questions based on spoken information.
Math: this sub-test includes questions on the following foundational math skills:
- Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of decimals
- Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions
- Conversion of decimals to fractions and vice-versa
- Rounding up of decimals
- Conversions within the metric system
- Conversions from Imperial to the metric system (conversion factors will be given)
- Solving basic word problems
Reading and Writing: the reading and writing sub-test involves reading a technical article and writing answers to questions
Skim/scan: the skim/scan sub-test involves reading a technical article and responding to multiple choice questions.
You have three hours to complete the four sub-tests of this assessment. In order to successfully complete the AMERA, a minimum score of 11/23 is required in the math sub-test.
