Get ready for an exciting week of discovery, connection and hands-on learning! Our team will guide campers through experiential activities that celebrate Indigenous culture and traditions. This camp offers a unique opportunity for youth to learn from Indigenous educators, Knowledge Keepers and Elders in a welcoming and supportive environment. Join us for a week of learning, reflection and exploration!

Activities include:

  • Nature walks and Medicine Wheel collage – Spend time outdoors gathering natural materials while learning out responsibility within the natural world. This activity prepares us for an art project that deepens our understanding of the Medicine Wheel and our place within it.
  • Drumming and singing – A chance to connect with your inner self and experience the power of group collaboration. The drum sound reflects your own heartbeat, where we came from, and where we want to be.
  • Medicine walks with Knowledge Keepers and Elders – Explore RRC Polytech’s Medicine Wheel Garden, discovering the ways that plants can help us in our everyday life.
  • Indigenous games and practical nature activities – Play traditional games that encourage teamwork, coordination and problem-solving. Discover creative ways to use natural materials in everyday life.
  • Opening and closing sharing circles – We begin our journey by getting to know one another and setting intentions. At the end of the week, campers reflect on their experiences and share what was most meaningful to them.

Campers will engage in two to three hours of hands-on themed programming each day. The rest of the day is filled with a variety of guided recreation activities throughout the campus. Recreation activities include games and sports, creative and artistic projects, team building challenges and more. We aim to go outside at least once per day, weather permitting.

Campers are led through their days by experienced leaders from RRC Polytech.
