If you recognize a hazard in the workplace, the principle of due diligence requires your action to control the hazard.

  • If the hazard is not something you can immediately control or you are not qualified to fix, report it to your supervisor.
  • If you are a supervisor, take the required action to control the hazard. Contact the appropriate personnel and if necessary, submit a work order to have the issue repaired.
  • If the hazard has not been adequately controlled, or if you are not comfortable to report the hazard to your employer, you can contact a member of your local Workplace Safety and Health Committee.
  • If the hazard is something that can cause immediate harm to anyone, contact Security Services at 204.632.2323.
