Rebels to Host Summer Sports Camps

Red River College’s Rebels Athletics program will once again help young athletes develop their skills this season, through a series of Summer Sports Camps aimed at youth of all ages.

The camps will run from late July to August, and will be led by experienced RRC coaches and athletes.

Rebels Boys and Girls Soccer Camp

  • Aug. 7-10, 2012
  • 9am-noon (Ages 7-12)
  • $130 (deadline July 23)

This camp will run in accordance with Soccer Canada’s Long Term Player Development Model. Athletes will take part in fun drills and games that develop soccer-specific skills, while training agility, balance, coordination, and speed.

Rebels Girls Volleyball Camp

  • July 30-Aug. 3, 2012
  • 10am-noon (Grades 6-8)
  • $120 (deadline July 16)

This developmental camp will focus on teaching important skills using proven drills that simulate real game situations. Coaches will also use Dartfish video technology in their analysis and correction, while providing players with video feedback of their progression.

Rebels Boys Volleyball Camps

  • Aug. 27-31, 2012
  • 9am-11am (All Skills for Grades 6-8)
  • 11am-1pm (Setters Camps for Grades 6-12)
  • 1:30pm-3:30pm (All Skills for Grades 9-10)
  • $120 (deadline Aug. 13)

These back-to-school camps help athletes take their game to the next level, ensuring they polish their skills as they enter tryouts for their school teams. Using Dartfish video technology, the camps will focus on skill development and improving tactical execution.

Rebels Boys and Girls Basketball Camps

  • Aug. 7-11, 2012
  • 1pm-4pm (Grade 8 and under)
  • 6pm-9pm (Grades 9-11)
  • Aug.13-17
  • 6pm-9pm (High Performance Camp, Grade 12 and over)
  • $140 (deadline July 23)

These camps focus on proper fundamentals and game play, incorporating individual and team drills in a fun environment. The High Performance Camp is designed for players planning to enter or return to college or university programs.
