RRC Polytech welcomes new federal investment in skilled trades training
RRC Polytech welcomes the recent announcement by the Government of Canada of an additional $2 billion to help provinces and territories expand skilled trades training capacity through Team Canada Strong.
This investment recognizes the importance of strengthening the entire skilled trades system, from pre-apprenticeship through to certification, to help build the workforce Canada needs for housing, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defence, and clean energy.
As Manitoba’s polytechnic, RRC Polytech is helping train the next generation of skilled trades professionals today, and is well positioned to do even more to support the workforce that will build Canada’s future.
We appreciate the federal government’s continued engagement with provinces and training institutions, and the Province of Manitoba’s leadership in advancing apprenticeship modernization and advocating for investments that strengthen long-term training capacity.
We look forward to continuing to work alongside both governments to expand training capacity, reduce barriers to skilled trades careers, and prepare the highly skilled workforce Manitoba and Canada need for generations to come.
