Week of the Early Childhood Educator – April 28-May 4, 2024

May 1, 2024

The Province of Manitoba has proclaimed April 28 through May 4 of 2024 as the 33rd annual Week of the Early Childhood Educator (ECE). The Week of the ECE was established in 1992 by the Manitoba Child Care Association.

This week is important to acknowledge the crucial work ECEs do here in Manitoba for children and families. The dedication of ECEs to support the youngest minds and their development is invaluable.

Thank you to the instructors of Red River College Polytechnic (RRC Polytech)’s ECE program and to each of the students of the program who will guide the next generation of learners. Each of you fulfills a vital need and has a profound impact on children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.

RRC Polytech campuses are located on the lands of Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, Anishininew, Dakota, and Dené, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

We recognize and honour Treaty 3 Territory Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, the source of Winnipeg’s clean drinking water. In addition, we acknowledge Treaty Territories which provide us with access to electricity we use in both our personal and professional lives.
