An employee experience platform brings together communications, knowledge, learning, resources, and insights into the flow of your work. Viva Briefing is a helpful tool as it offers personal insights and recommendations to prioritize well being and to boost productivity through an email sent to your Outlook inbox.
The subject line is “Your daily briefing” and the sender is viva-noreply@microsoft.com with a friendly name of “Microsoft Viva.”
The Briefing email is not a standard email. It is system-generated and does not go through the standard email delivery process. Instead, it is inserted directly into your Outlook inbox by Microsoft Viva. Briefing emails cannot be managed by email rules.
The email will include a list of items needing your attention, and will provide quick access to data and tasks, relevant news and communications, contacts, resources, and documents regarding the specific topics. For example, to prepare for a meeting, to respond to an email, or to continue working with a document.
You will receive the email, once per workday, at a specific time of your choice.
Yes, you can change the time the email is delivered, to something that works best for your needs and for your work day. See Microsoft Viva Briefings Settings for details.
No, you will never be sent an empty email with no content. Emails will only be sent when you have actionable items.
The Briefing email is private and for you and only you. All information in the Briefing email is from your mailbox and stored in your mailbox. Everything you see in the Briefing email is information you already have access to in your mailbox. The Briefing email just makes it easier to find items that might need attention.
The Briefing email only includes existing information that is already available in your own inbox. It summarizes documents, emails, and meetings to make it easier for you to find what is most important for your day ahead. You cannot see any new information about others that was not already available in your own inbox.
