Microsoft Viva Briefing settings

Your daily Viva Briefing email now comes from Microsoft Viva. You can change your personal settings for the Viva Briefing email to set the specific time of day you receive the Briefing in your inbox. You may also unsubscribe from it. These settings override or take precedence over what the admin sets up for your Briefing email.

Briefing options

  • If the related task is already done or there are no further tasks with it, click Done.
  • If it does apply to you and you would like to follow up on this task later, click Remind me. The task is automatically added to To Do and a Briefing email reminder is set for the next working day. You can customize the task or its reminder in these ways:
    • To edit the task, select Edit task in To Do.
    • To be reminded of the task on a specific date, select Remind me on date.
    • To be reminded the following week, select Remind me next week.
  • To remove the task from your list, select Delete.

Update settings

  1. Near the end of any Briefing email, select Settings or visit https://cortana.office.com/briefing.
  2. In Settings, you can change the following, which take effect the next working day if you have any insights:
    • To change your subscription to the Briefing email, toggle Cortana Briefing to On to subscribe or Off to unsubscribe.

NOTE: If you unsubscribe, you can always subscribe again at https://cortana.office.com/briefing.
    • In the section called When would you like to receive this email, using the drop down, choose a specific time, from 2a.m. to 10a.m., and then select Save. You will receive your next Briefing within two hours of this new time.
    • In the section called Current time zone, select Change time zone to change the Outlook setting for your Briefings.
    • Only managers or team leads will see this next option. In the section called Your team members, select Edit team to add or remove team members. If you are not a manager, select I am not a manager to hide this setting.

NOTE: For more information, see Microsoft’s Follow up on tasks.
