RPL Symposium 2014: Celebrating and Recognizing Learning

On Thursday May 22nd, eTV live streamed the RPL Symposium hosted by Red River College’s RPL Services and the Manitoba Prior Learning Assessment Network (MPLAN). The symposium featured a number of presentations as well as the recognition of the 2014 MPLAN PEARL Awards and ExemPLAR Award recipients.

Skills Manitoba 2014

May 16, 2014

The 17th Annual Skills Manitoba Competition was held at Red River College on April 10th 2014. High school, post-secondary, and apprentice students from across Manitoba came to the college to participate in trades and technology related skill challenges. eTV recorded footage from a number of the competitions and interviewed several participants. The footage will be used as part of the Apprenticeship Project; an initiative to bring the trades to high school students through various trade area panoramas.

13th Annual MADLaT Conference

May 9, 2014

The Manitoba Association for Distributed Learning & Training (MADLaT) Conference was held at Red River College on May 1st and 2nd 2014. The conference addressed the blend of information communication technologies with the wisdom of educators and trainers in learning environments. eTV live streamed a number of presentations including Dr. Richard Van Eck’s keynote speech, the Passport to Learning panel discussion, and four technology in education sessions.

RRC Convocation – Winter 2014

RRC 75th Anniversary Celebration

Red River College is celebrating its 75th anniversary! The college community has come together to recognize everyone who has contributed to 75 years of educational growth and success. Formal celebrations began on October 9th with a cake cutting ceremony in the Voyageur at the Notre Dame Campus. In conjunction with College Relations and with support from IT, eTV streamed the event live to RRC campuses across Winnipeg and rural Manitoba. We are proud to have participated in this momentous occasion.

College Day – Gathering with the President

June 10, 2013

eTV streamed Gathering with the President as part of RRC’s College Day on Friday, June 7th in the North Gym at Notre Dame Campus. The event included president Stephanie Forsyth’s address and a Q & A session, followed by the Staff Awards Ceremony and the 75th Anniversary Kickoff. The three camera shoot provided a high-quality video that was live-streamed to participants. The video is now available on demand for those who were unable to attend.

Animal Health – Dairy Farm

May 17, 2013

Sometimes it can be a dirty job but the eTV crew are always up to the challenge. Recently, we visited the Grenkow Dairy Farm with Dr. Johnston of Central Veterinarian Services for an examination of reproductive herd health. The video from this shoot supports an Animal Health Technology Curriculum Re-Development PIF project. For a behind the scenes look at this shoot, check out the video and pictures below. No animals or eTV crew members were hurt in the making of this “moooovie.”
