The Anti-Racism Action Committee is excited to offer the Truth and Reconciliation Community of Practice (TRCP) at RRC Polytech!
The TRCP is a learning community that creates opportunities for staff and faculty to extend and apply their learning, and to take action to advance Truth and Reconciliation and anti-racism. It serves as a strategic initiative that fosters meaningful dialogue, professional development, and community engagement. Through regular discussions and reflection, participants can actively integrate Indigenous teachings and reconciliation principles into their professional and personal lives, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable environment at RRC Polytech.
Participation in the TRCP involves a commitment of approximately 10-12 hours. This includes group discussions, facilitated in circle, as well as small group or partner discussions centered around guided questions that explore both Truth and Reconciliation and anti-racism. These discussions will guide participants on a journey through the Medicine Wheel and will provide experiential learning around Indigenous teachings. The TRCP culminates in a group feast, celebrating the truth learned and actions taken, as well as planning next steps.
