Join RRC Polytech and the Western Association of Broadcast Engineers (WABE) for an exciting networking event on Monday, May 4 as industry veterans explore how evolving technologies, shifting roles, and emerging opportunities are reshaping media careers and what skills matter most for the future.
The WABE Monday Media Meetup is a great opportunity for anyone interested in media, broadcasting, production, and communications to connect directly with professionals working across news, television, radio, film, live production, and digital media.
The evening will kick off with a casual meet and greet, followed by an engaging panel discussion on how media industry jobs are being rewritten. Panelists will share how their careers are evolving, how technology (including AI) is changing their work, and where they see new opportunities emerging in media today.

- Parking: Third-party parking lots are conveniently located around the Exchange District Campus. Street parking is also available on many of the surrounding streets and is free after 5:30 p.m.

For more than 75 years, WABE has supported media and entertainment technology professionals through events, conferences, technical exhibits, and educational sessions, helping the industry stay informed on the technologies shaping its future—especially as media technologies across all sectors continue to rapidly converge. WABE Meetups are free, casual gatherings held annually, with the Winnipeg meetup traditionally taking place on the first Monday in May. Meetups are open to anyone interested in media and entertainment technology and provide an opportunity to connect with the local community of professionals working in the field. Students, retirees, and those exploring or entering the industry are all welcome.
