Health Care Aide Equivalency Assessment

RRC Polytech’s Health Care Aide (HCA) Equivalency Assessment process is for employment purposes within Manitoba. Eligible applicants from programs that are assessed as equivalent will receive a letter confirming HCA equivalency for employment purposes in Manitoba.

Application Dates

Health Care Aide (HCA) Equivalency applications are accepted twice per year during the following application periods:

  • February 1 to March 1
  • September 1 to October 1

Processing takes approximately 4–6 weeks once the application window closes. Applications submitted outside of these timeframes will only be processed within these application dates.

Application Process

  1. Complete the form below.
  2. Pay the $400 application fee at RRC Polytech’s Student Service Centre.
    • If paying by Visa or MasterCard – Contact the Student Service Centre at 204-632-2327 to have an account created and make a payment. Please be advised to create an account, we will need the following information:
      • Full name
      • Mailing address
      • Date of birth
      • Phone number
      • Email
  3. Email all required documents (see below), including proof of payment, to hcaequivalency@rrc.ca.
