What is the application deadline for this intake?
NREP follows a rolling admissions process. However, due to limited seat availability, applicants are encouraged to apply at least 2–3 months prior to the desired intake. You can refer to the following link to determine seat availability. Once the seats fill for this intake then the intake will no longer be listed on the website.
Is the program offered online, in-person, or in a hybrid format?
The program is delivered in a blended format (online and in-person components).
Can I work while completing the program?
Yes. The program allows for flexible study progression, enabling students to plan around work and personal commitments.
Are clinical placements part of the program? If so, how are they arranged?
Yes. The practicum consists of 320 preceptored clinical hours, typically in a medical or surgical setting. Placement is arranged within the student’s community when possible. Shifts may be 8 or 12 hours and can include days, evenings, or nights, including weekends.
Is there a time limit to complete the program?
All core courses must be completed within two years from the course start date to earn the NREP Post-Graduate Certificate or within 2 years of date of referral from CRNM.
Can I complete the program on a part-time basis?
Yes. Students may design a part-time study plan that aligns with their personal needs.
Can I take individual courses without enrolling in the entire program?
No. Students must be formally admitted to the program to register for courses.
I practiced Nursing several years ago, what are the steps to get enrolled?
Contact the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) for a competency assessment before applying to NREP.
I received the endorsement letter from CRNM, what’s next?
After receiving the CRNM referral, follow the application process outlined on the RRC Polytech website.
I am required to take only one course for the NREP, can I just enroll without submitting an application?
Admission to the program is required, even if you are only taking one course. An application with the required documentation and within the deadlines indicated would need to be submitted.
My employer is not listed on the CRNM list of approved employers for the Language Attestation letter, is that accepted?
No. Only employers listed by CRNM are accepted for the Language Attestation requirement.
My English certificate is expired, what can you consider? Can I enroll first and submit another English certificate later on?
No. Students must meet English Language Requirements (ELRs) before admission.
What supporting documents are required for my application?
A list of required documents is available on RRC website.
Are there any prerequisite courses I need to complete before applying?
No. All courses are taken after admission into the program.
Can I transfer credits from a different nursing program?
CRNM will assess your competencies and determine which NREP courses are required.
What happens if I miss the application deadline?
There is no application deadline. This is an ongoing application process and you can apply to the next available start date that is advertised on the website.
Is there a waitlist for the program if it is full?
Yes. Applications are placed on the waitlist and offered seats in the order of application date.
Can I reapply if I am not accepted?
Yes, you can reapply and you will need to submit a new application with a fee. You will be required to submit all required documents again within the required deadlines. If you have obtained new academic or professional credentials, it is important to resubmit a new application and documents.
