Academic Foundations

This five-month program prepares students for Grade 11 or for admission to selected Red River College Polytechnic programs by developing skills in English and mathematics. All courses may be applied to the Mature Student High School Diploma.

Mature High School

RRC Polytech offers a variety of High School courses for students seeking to attain a Mature Student High School Diploma.
To qualify for the program you meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a mature student of at least 19 years of age within the school calendar year if you are coming to finish a Mature Student Grade 12 high school diploma.
- To obtain a Mature Grade 12 high school diploma, a student must complete a minimum of eight credits to be eligible for high school standing. You may be able to use credits from grades 10, 11 and 12 level from your previous high school transcript.
- Four of these credits must be at the Senior 4 level (Grade 12). Two of these Senior 4 (Grade 12) credits must include Senior 4 English Language Arts and a Senior 4 Mathematics.
- No person shall retroactively obtain Mature Student High School standing. That is, no person can claim automatic rights to a mature student graduation diploma. A student must take at least one credit with an Adult Learning Centre.
- RRC Polytech offers a variety of Grade 11 and Grade 12 courses for students seeking to attain a Mature Student High School Diploma, and for high school graduates who require specific courses for college or university.

Fees
All students pay a Material Fee of $30.00 per course. If you are a high school graduate, you are subsidized for an additional four courses at $30.00. Beginning with the fifth course/credit, students will pay tuition of $312.00 per course.
Material fees for courses are non-refundable.
