Programs and courses offered through the Price Institute allow learners to focus on building the in-demand skills required to succeed in Manitoba’s rapidly growing manufacturing industry. Across all sectors, manufacturing requires a robust skillset that incorporates emerging technology and mechatronics.
RRC Polytech offers a suite of advanced manufacturing and mechatronics micro-credentials offered jointly through the Price Institute and ACE Project Space that deliver rapid skills — for progressing a career or starting a new one — in manufacturing and information technology.
RRC Polytech is proud to be the first post-secondary institute in Manitoba to offer the Siemens Mechatronics Systems Certification Program (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3).
This program is being offered as a series of micro-credentials.
Students will have the opportunity to develop the skills and competencies to use advanced and emerging technologies to improve and create products or processes in manufacturing. The coursework and applied learning activities will allow you to be part of the manufacturing teams of the future that harness technologies, including Mechatronics, Artificial intelligence, Robotics, Advanced Composites, and other innovative technologies.
A capstone project will provide you with an authentic, work-integrated learning experience with an industry partner.
Students will have the opportunity to prepare for a multi-disciplinary engineering specialty that integrates mechanical and electrical engineering with computer and control technologies. The course work and hands on activities in the program will allow you to gain the skills and competencies needed to succeed in the ever-growing and emerging field of mechatronics.
The program emphasis is on the designing and optimizing of complex mechatronic systems as well as project and process management principles. A capstone project will provide you with an authentic, work integrated learning experience with an industry partner.
Successful graduates of the program who meet eligibility requirements will be eligible to write the level 3 of the Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Program (SMSCP) certification.
RRC Polytech campuses are located on the lands of Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, Anishininew, Dakota, and Dené, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
