Electric Vehicle Communication and Computer Systems
This micro-credential course is part of a training initiative by Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery (C2R2) and the Government of Canada to provide workers with new skills needed to support a clean economy.
The Electric Vehicle Communication and Computer Systems micro-credential course is designed to complement the prerequisite Introduction to Electric Vehicle Technology micro-credential course.
This course provides:
- Technicians with an advanced skill level diagnosing vehicle networking and computer systems related to hybrid and electric vehicles.
- Hands-on diagnosis and testing of multiplexing networks including CAN, ladder logic and J1939 protocol.
- Skills related to network message dissection and interpretation using oscilloscope and scan data.
- Skills related to software routines/functions for systems such as high voltage battery management, propulsion and all levels of charging.

Textbooks/Materials:
- PPE, steel toe (CSA approved footwear) and CSA approved safety glasses. Students will be informed on the first day of all required PPE.

Prerequisites
