Bike Resources

We’ve assembled a variety of resources that have been recommended to us from novice and experienced cyclists. If you think something else should be here, contact us.

Online Resources

Rules of the Road

The Manitoba Public Insurance cycling page has a variety of helpful links and resources. On this site you’ll find: portions of the Highway Traffic Act that apply to cyclists, tips for motorists and cyclists sharing the road and a video containing good info on cycling in traffic.

Bike Maintenance

If you need to perform some minor maintenance on your bike before heading home, we have repair stations available at both the Notre Dame Campus and the Roblin Centre. These stations have a stand to hold your bike and some commonly used tools.

Park Tool has a nifty bike graphic where you can roll over menu items to locate the area of your bike that needs attention. Each section contains videos and articles to help you.

The WRENCH has compiled this handy list of all the Community Bike Shops in Winnipeg.

Trip Planning

When getting directions in Google Maps, click the cycling icon to get biking directions to your destination. There is also a “Biking” layer to check which routes are most bike friendly.

The City of Winnipeg Bike Map outlines cycling routes and the Pedestrian and Cycling Proposed Network to help you plan your trip. Pick up a copy at NDC and EDC Security Services.

Still not sure about riding your bike to campus? Contact us! We’ll be happy to help you plan your route and we can even help set you up with a bike buddy!
