RRC Hosts Spring 2009 Convocation

Red River
College’s 2009 Spring Convocation is taking place this week, with 749
students receiving diplomas, and 581 receiving certificates.

Several special awards are also being presented, including: the
Honourary Diploma to entrepreneur/philanthropist John Buhler; the
Teaching Award of Excellence to instructor Jason Taylor; and
Distinguished Alumni Awards to NBC News London Correspondent Dawna
Friesen (Creative Communications, 1984) and Merv Gunter (Business
Administration, 1970), owner of Frontiers North Adventures.

RRC Polytech campuses are located on the lands of Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, Anishininew, Dakota, and Dené, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

We recognize and honour Treaty 3 Territory Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, the source of Winnipeg’s clean drinking water. In addition, we acknowledge Treaty Territories which provide us with access to electricity we use in both our personal and professional lives.
