Public Interest Disclosure Act Annual Reports

Did you know that Red River College Polytechnic is designated a “government body” under The Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblower Protection) Act, (“PIDA”)? PIDA facilitates disclosure and investigation where a public servant, such as a College employee, is or has engaged in of certain types of wrongdoings including committing an offence under the law, placing the lives or physical safety of others in substantial or specific danger or grossly mismanaging public funds or assets. PIDA protects employees who make disclosures of wrongdoing from reprisal, including discipline, demotion, termination or any other measure that adversely affects their employment.

RRC Polytech’s Public Interest Disclosure Protection Policy (P2) and associated Procedures set out how we will address disclosures of Wrongdoings made under PIDA. Be assured that everyone involved in the handling and investigation of a disclosure is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any information they receive throughout the process, including the name of the person making the disclosure (i.e. the whistleblower).

We encourage all staff and faculty to check out our FAQ at the Whistleblower Protection microsite and feel free to contact Legal and Compliance at any time if you have questions about this Policy.
