Activate Windows to remove warnings
If you receive a warning message to activate Windows, it means your activation has expired. You must connect your RRC Polytech‑issued devices to RRC’s network once every 180 days to ensure your license remains active.
Activate your Windows license
- Connect your device to one of these RRC networks:
- VPN
- Wired network
- Wi‑Fi network called RRCWireless
NOTE: You can connect to RRC’s Wi‑Fi network, from your vehicle when you are in the parking lot or parked close to the campus. You do not have to enter the Campus buildings to access the Wi‑Fi network with your RRC credentials. - Log on to your device using your RRC user name and RRC password.
IMPORTANT: Once you have logged on, wait at least five minutes for specific background processes to be completed, before moving on to step 3.
- Restart your computer.
NOTE: If the warning messages continue after you restart your computer, open the ITS Service Desk website to submit a Service Desk ticket.
