Immunizations and Testing

Receiving immunizations and getting required testing is important for all healthcare workers, such as nurses, clinical laboratory staff, HCA, and physicians. Healthcare workers are at an increased risk of exposure to communicable diseases (diagnoses and undiagnosed) because of their contact with patients/clients or their environment. In addition, there is a risk that a healthcare worker could transmit an undiagnosed vaccine-preventable disease to others.

RRC Polytech strongly recommends that students receive all immunizations and testing for healthcare workers. Students are required to follow the process below to attend Work Integrated Learning opportunities.

Immunization and Testing Guide for WIL

Below is a quick guide to ensure you are meeting your immunization requirements to attend Work Integrated Learning.

  1. Student admitted into healthcare-related program
  2. Student must print out the Certificate of Progress document and take it to a healthcare provider to complete.
  1. Once your review of outstanding immunizations is completed, please have your healthcare provider complete the certificate on the final page of the document.

Note: You are responsible for all costs associated with receiving immunizations and/or testing from your own healthcare provider.

Parents, partners, and close family members must not provide your immunizations and testing or complete any forms.

Important: You must provide the completed certificate to your program to attend WIL. A student’s specific immunization and/or testing requirements should not be provided to the program.
