National Skilled Trades and Technology Week Pep Rally

The National Skilled Trades and Technology Week Pep Rally was a big success this year with lots of fun activities and learning opportunities. Economy Minister Kevin Chief was on hand to announce that Manitoba will be hosting the 2017 National Skills Canada Competition. Microbiology Lab – Interactive Panorama

In conjunction with the Medical Laboratory Sciences program, eTV recently created this interactive panorama of the Microbiology Lab at RRC. Using immersive learning technology this resource will be used by students to explore the lab and learn about the tools associated with microbiology.

Sustainable Living EcoFair 360° Video

If you missed the Sustainable Living EcoFair held in the Roblin Centre Atrium (in April) here’s an opportunity to check it out in the full glory of 360° video. At this point you’ll need to view the video with Chrome and/or on YouTube’s app. (Android only) but you’re guaranteed to see something new every time you explore the event. 360° video technologies are new and developing so quality and playback options are limited. Over the next few months though this technology will explode in quality and quantity and we here in eTV look forward to bringing all the exciting develops to Red River College.

Developing 360° Video

Imagine being fully immersed inside the video you are watching; looking in all directions and seeing everything that’s going on around you. Utilizing 360° video and Oculus technology, eTV is currently developing and demoing this next wave of video production.

Take a sneak peek at a work-in-progress 360° production. Click and drag on the video with your mouse, or, on a mobile device, swipe with your finger to look in all directions as the video plays:
