General Questions

Is there any advantage to applying prior to the application deadline? Will I have a better chance for admission?

Admission decisions are based first on the Program Readiness Video Scores. If there are applicants who achieve identical scores, the date of application may be used.

I completed courses through RRC Polytech. Do I need to submit an official RRC Polytech transcript as part of my application?

The Admissions Officer will have access to your RRC Polytech transcript. However, you may include an unofficial version from HUB with your admission documents.

Do I need to submit a Criminal Record Check and Child and Adult Abuse Registry as part of my application?

You are required to sign and submit the Applicant Declaration for Check Documents Form as part of the application process.

Do not submit record checks at this time. These are Progression Requirements and will be required once you are accepted into an AHS program.

When do I need to submit my immunization records?

You are not required to submit immunization records as part of the application process. This is also a Progression Requirement and will be arranged once you are accepted into an AHS program.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography – Ultrasound

My Winter term university courses are complete, but my transcript will not be completed before the application deadline. Am I still eligible to apply?

Yes. Applicants have 15 days from their date of application to submit all admission documents.

If you apply between January 1 and the application deadline, you will have until May 15 to submit official final transcripts for any Winter term courses.

If your institution cannot provide your post-secondary transcript by May 15, you may email the Admissions Officer to request a short extension. All other admission documents must be submitted within the 15-day timeframe.

How do I know if a course meets a Science requirement?

As long as the institution you are attending (or attended) considers a course to meet a Science requirement, RRC Polytech will accept it as meeting the Science requirement.

I completed Human Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology more than five years ago. Can I request Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), or can I complete a challenge exam to meet this requirement?

Applicants cannot meet admission requirements through RPL or a challenge exam.

If you completed Human Anatomy and Physiology or Medical Terminology more than five years before your application date, you must retake these courses before applying to the program.

Is it possible to complete the academic admission requirements through RRC Polytech?

If you are a previous or current RRC Polytech student, you may already meet some of the 27 required credits for application.

It is also possible to complete the 27 required credits through RRC Polytech’s School of Continuing Education.

For more information, fill out our online intake form and an academic advisor will contact you within three business days. Advisors are available Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Do transcripts still need to be submitted in a sealed envelope directly from the post-secondary institution?

RRC Polytech will accept transcripts sent directly from the institution, either by mail, digital delivery (documents@rrc.ca), or through MyCreds.

Transcripts must be official and issued within six months of your application date. Unofficial transcripts, web transcripts, and grade reports will not be accepted.

It states on the website that post-secondary transcripts must have been issued within six months prior to your application date. What does this mean?

Where can I find the program readiness video requirements?

I am applying to more than one AHS program. Can I complete one readiness video to use for all my applications?

No. Each program has a separate set of questions to answer and specifications to follow. Applicants must submit a separate video for each program, tailored to each one.

I have completed my readiness video, but it is longer than 7 minutes. Will it still be accepted?

No. All video submissions must meet the minimum/maximum time requirements. Videos shorter than 5 minutes or longer than 7 minutes exactly will be rejected.

I submitted my video to SlideRoom but my Future Student Account still shows not received. When will that be updated?

SlideRoom and your Future Student Account are not connected. Your Admission Officer will periodically check the SlideRoom submissions and update applications accordingly. Please allow 1-2 weeks for your video supplemental item to be updated to received status after you submit to SlideRoom.

Can I upload or record my video through a third party platform like YouTube or Vimeo to submit?

No. Platforms like these have privacy policies in place that will remove your video due to the requirement of showing your photo identification. If you upload your video through one of these platforms, it will be rejected.

I submitted my video to SlideRoom but I made a mistake and need to re record it. Can I replace my submitted video with the updated one?

No. Each applicant is only permitted one video submission, per program, per admission cycle. Please ensure you are submitting the final version of your video when completing your SlideRoom application.
