

This course will teach the concepts of building information modeling, parametric design, and construction documentation through Autodesk’s Revit software. Through the use of intelligent building components and interdependent views of the building model, students will see how and why this type of software is transforming the way we produce presentation and construction documentation with the added ability to glean statistical and quantitative information from it.

This course will build upon the concepts of building information modeling learned in Level 1 and introduce topics that include the creation and modification of parametric Revit families, using details lines to enhance construction documents and model management.

Revit Level 3 is a three-day hands on step by step experience with Autodesk Revit software and is designed to provide training to students to enable them to apply and integrate the principles of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to all areas of project delivery. Topics will include: Coordinating Consultant’s Revit Models, Phasing and Design Options and Project Collaboration. Approaches to BIM Management will also be discussed. Prior Revit experience is required.
