Career & Employer Interests Survey – Enter to WIN!

April 17, 2025

RRC Polytech’s Work-Integrated Learning & Career Services department is pleased to be participating in a national research study of student interests and attitudes regarding their careers and employers.  The resulting report will help employers better understand how to attract and hire students and graduates while also helping us learn how to better serve you with career planning support.

All respondents to the survey are eligible to enter a draw for a $500 Best Buy Gift Card or one of 10 cash prizes of $100 each.

All responses will be treated as confidential and not be associated with your identity in any way.

You can start the survey here https://research.brainstorm.ca/ and it should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.

Please note that you may find the survey quicker and easier to complete on a computer rather than a mobile device (though either works well).

Thank you for considering being a part of this important study.  Please feel free to forward this message to your friends and classmates!

Fraud Alert: Job Scams

March 3, 2025

There have been several reports of attempts to scam students through fraudulent job postings.

Avoid these scams by watching for these warning signs:

  • You received a job offer without an application or interview
  • You are offered a job different from the one you applied for
  • You’re promised high pay for easy work or a limited amount of work hours
  • You’re being asked to use your bank account to conduct business on behalf of the company
  • You’re told you have to pay for training, software or materials
  • You’re asked to use your own money to purchase gift cards or other items of value to send back to the “employer”

Many scammers now have an elaborate website with a matching professional-looking email which makes it difficult to tell if they are legitimate or not. If you have any doubts or questions, please contact Career Services at careerservices@rrc.ca.
