History

Prairie Lights

Before Red River College Polytechnic’s Hospitality, Baking and Culinary Arts students moved downtown into Jane’s and the Paterson GlobalFoods Institute, they operated a restaurant called Prairie Lights at the Notre Dame Campus.

Billed as a fine dining restaurant, Prairie Lights developed a reputation among staff, students and the general public as an affordable spot to have a savoury meal.

Jane’s

The jewel in the Paterson GlobalFoods Institute’s crown, Jane’s treats diners to a new experience in urban upscale, while providing hands-on training opportunities for students in Hospitality and Culinary Arts. A tribute to lead donor Andrew Paterson’s beloved mother Jane, the restaurant occupies the site of the building’s former bank hall, an ornate and awe-inspiring space that serves as a stunning architectural centrepiece.

RRC Polytech campuses are located on the lands of Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, Anishininew, Dakota, and Dené, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
