What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for creative people who are excited about filmmaking and love making things. We value attention to detail, craftsmanship, artistic talent, and a strong work ethic—these are all important skills for success in the field.

The care and effort you put into presenting your demo reel really matters, but don’t feel intimidated. Work hard, do your best, and remember to enjoy the process. We can’t wait to see what you create. Good luck!

Before You Submit Your Demo Reel

Make sure that you have applied for the Digital Film and Media Production program. Apply online or at the Student Service Centre.

Submitting Your Demo Reel

Once you have applied to the program, you will be emailed instructions on how to submit your demo reel.

Demo Reel Requirements

  1. Title graphic including name, email address, cell phone number, and your role(s) for the work you are submitting
  2. Criteria (creative brief)
    1. Length 2-3 minutes
    2. Short segments edited together
    3. Demonstrate different styles of visual storytelling
    4. Include five different videos, photography, and/or motion graphics samples from past projects
    5. Onscreen text should be used to describe your role in the project if you were not the only one involved. (lighting, editor, camera, sound, etc.) You do not need to credit others in the work, just list your role.
    6. Followed creative brief and submission requirements
  3. Technical ability
    1. Cinematography
    2. Audio
    3. Storytelling
    4. Editing
