Name: Margaux Miller

Biography Highly engaged in the Winnipeg community, Margaux Miller splits her volunteer time between the chairing committee of TEDxWinnipeg, the development committee of the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and as a producer and host for a new Innovation Alley podcast supporting entrepreneurialism in Manitoba. In 2017, Margaux’s community involvement was honored with the Future Leader of Manitoba award.

Margaux has spent her career providing increasing levels of leadership in marketing, sales, community relations, and event execution for both multinational brands and small entrepreneurial businesses. She is currently managing the integration of a Winnipeg tech startup recently acquired by a global leader in the airport services industry.

In her spare time, Margaux is an avid world traveler and soccer player.

 

Name: Peter George

Title President & CEO, McKim Communications Group
Biography Peter George has been president and CEO of McKim Communications Group since 2008. A 25-year industry veteran, he has played a leadership role in creating brands for many regional and national organizations, including the Women’s Television Network, Aboriginal People’s Television Network, the University of Manitoba, Travel Manitoba, the City of Regina and many others.

Peter started his career in advertising in 1989 as a graphic designer. He founded Taylor George Design in 1995 and quickly built it into one of the top advertising agencies in Manitoba. He has since turned his passion for art, design and advertising into a significant business, merging Taylor George with McKim in 2006 and rebuilding that agency into a recognized branding and advertising leader.

Peter has a reputation for being an inspiring presenter and a business visionary. He has served on a variety of non-profit community boards and as a senior advisor to many of Manitoba’s biggest companies and institutions. His experience as a creative director and strategic planner provide an unshakeable foundation for his ability to assist the agency’s clients in reaching their potential.

 

Name: Margaret Egan

Title Sinclair Barnes Limited
Biography Margaret Egan is the Founder and Managing Director of Sinclair Barnes Limited, an international Management Consultancy which develops Brand and Marketing Strategies. She divides her time between her London UK office and her new Canadian office based in her hometown of Winnipeg.

Margaret works globally in consumer and corporate business sectors to develop and implement brand strategies and marketing plans. She has worked with some of the world’s most famous brands – such as Apple, Samsung, AT&T, Air Canada, Unilever, Coca-Cola, Blackberry, American Express and IBM.

Margaret was previously Global Group Strategy Director at the McCann Erickson Group and a brand strategist with the Ogilvy & Mather and JWT advertising networks. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Manitoba and a Master’s Degree in Urban Policy and Environmental Strategy from York University in Toronto.

Margaret has built a particular focus in the business and consumer impact and response to Climate Change specifically developing and implementing the business case for sustainable practices and products in the built environment.

Her other current Canadian projects include developing local strategies and programmes in urban and northern Indigenous employment for the Manitoba market and nationally.

Margaret is a frequent conference speaker and lectures on Brand Strategy and Marketing including in the MBA programmes of the London Business School and Fairley Dickinson University (New York). She is a fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society and on the Board of Memorial University of Newfoundland’s UK campus.

 

Name: (Moderator) Adam Dooley

Biography Over the past two and a half decades, Adam has developed and executed communications programs for regional, national and North American organizations. As an expert at integrating public relations with advertising and marketing tactics, Adam’s strategies build strong brands and polished corporate images.

He launched Dooley Communications in 2007 after an award-winning career as a reporter, editor and corporate communications executive. Under his leadership, Dooley Communications has grown to become one of the leading PR firms in the Canadian Prairies with clients including Ford of Canada, Dynacare, Cando Rail Services, the Government of Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg.

He was formerly Vice-President of Marketing and Communications at Cambrian Credit Union, one of the largest financial institutions in the Canadian Prairies. Prior to that, he helped manage communications for Assante Corporation across Canada and the United States.

Adam holds an honours BA in History from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario.
