Student Service Centres

Access all of the services a student or prospective student needs, in a one-stop shop format. There’s a Student Service Centre at both NDC and Exchange District Campus. It’s the first point of contact for students and visitors. We’re here to help you! Our service offerings include:

Students can pay all fees, update student records, pick up student loans, receive photo ID cards, and conduct all other business transactions at the Student Service Centres.

Counselling and Accessibility Services

Personal well-being is key to academic success. RRC offers counselling support to help you manage problems such as: stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationship issues. Academic problems,test anxiety and financial concerns are also areas with which we can help.

If you have a diagnosed physical, learning or mental health disability, you may be eligible to receive various supports that could help you accomplish your goals while at RRC. A counsellor can help you arrange, coordinate and monitor these supports — such as exam accommodations, interpreting services, tutoring services,note-taking assistance, plus adaptive technology and equipment — based on your needs.  

Assessment Services

Our Assessment Services area provides entrance, diagnostic, and career-related testing to prospective and current students. This process is designed to better understand your needs and abilities, as well as your strengths and weaknesses relevant to learning. 

Academic Success Centre

Need some help understanding your course work? The Academic Success Centre can match you up with free peer tutors, study groups or supplemental instruction classes.

You can also get information on college success skills: learning from textbooks, note-taking, studying, test-taking techniques and time management.

If you have a learning disability, you can arrange for individualized tutoring by making an appointment with a counsellor.

Student Employment Services

Landing a job after school is, of course, a primary goal, and RRC’s Student Employment Services can help. We’ll assist you with job-seeking strategies, resume writing, cover letters, interview preparation/mock interviews, employment application forms, current labour market information and any other employment-related matter. We provide support and direction when looking for summer, part-time, full-time or temporary employment. 

Diversity and Immigrant Student Support

The Diversity and Immigrant Student Support department provides services and support programs to help immigrant and international students be successful in their transition to the College and their integration into the Canadian labour force. The Department also provides customized diversity workshops to staff, faculty and students in varied academic programs to ensure that the learning environment is inclusive and respectful of diversity and to develop valuable cross-cultural skills necessary in today’s global work environment.

The Diversity and Immigrant Student Support department also coordinates the Red River College LGBTT* Initiative that provides educational opportunities and resources to build communication, understanding and respect for diversity throughout the College. This is an initiative for all Red River College students, staff and faculty.
