Renting

Once you find a suitable place to live, most landlords will ask you to sign a lease. You will be responsible for paying a damage deposit and your first month’s rent up front. A lease can be a month-to-month arrangement or a 12-month agreement. Your lease agreement is a legally binding document between you and your landlord that will detail the rights and responsibilities of both parties. Please read it carefully before you sign.

Homestays

Homestays allow you to live in a Canadian home, and to learn English in a natural setting. They also help you to adjust more quickly and provide you with a better understanding of Canadian culture. This option can be very rewarding if you are flexible and willing to adjust to a new environment.

Agents/students are advised to contact the Homestay companies on their own, and to clarify all terms and conditions before entering into any agreement/contract.

Disclaimer: The homestay agencies are not owned, operated or endorsed by Red River College Polytechnic. They are independent of the College and operates as a private business. It is the student’s sole responsibility to assess the homestay facilities as suitable for their needs and also by verifying necessary reference. Any arrangements, financial or otherwise, are strictly between the student and the homestay provider and/or homestay placement agency. Prices are subject to change without notification and must be confirmed before entering into any agreement. Please contact the homestay provider or homestay placement agency for current prices and detailed terms and conditions and/or facilities information.
