How to Apply
![]()
Here’s all the information that you need to apply online with confidence. Before we go through a step-by-step guide, make sure you have chosen the academic program of your interest. Ensure the program is available for the start date that best suits your needs.
1 Requirements
Check the Academic Requirements
Mandatory requirements vary from program to program, but there is one mandatory requirement for all of our academic programs:
- Bachillerato
This is what we consider to be the equivalent of a Canadian Grade 12 for Latin American students with a study visa. Other educational documents might be necessary (see step 3, Documents).
- Additional requirements – some programs may have other mandatory requirements, such as portfolios for Graphic Design
Check the requirements of your program using our catalogue by selecting your program of interest and clicking in the Admission Requirements section, or let us help you through the process: intled@rrc.ca
Check the Language Requirements
There are two ways to fulfill the English requirements for the academic program of your choice:
- If you achieve the minimum scores in all categories (listening, speaking, writing and reading) in IELTS Academic or CanTest, as requested by your program:
- Apply to the Academic Program
- If you haven’t achieved the minimum scores in IELTS Academic or CanTest as requested by your academic program:
- Apply to the Intensive English for International Students program + Apply to the Academic Program
- We encourage you to submit your English proficiency test scores with your application. That will help you to get an estimate of your IEIS program length.
2 Application
Plan for your Application
Ensure you have enough time to prepare all the necessary documentation before applying. Applications are accepted all year long and are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strongly recommend that you apply at least six months prior to the start date of your chosen program.
Another consideration is the time your study visa will take to be processed after you are accepted at RRC Polytech. Check out the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s website for visa processing times.
