Meet the International Student Ambassadors 2025-2026

Each year, a handful of international students are selected to be International Student Ambassadors. Their mission is to promote diversity on campus, provide peer support and share experiences, and assist Red River College Polytechnic programs and services in organizing events and activities.

It is our pleasure to introduce the Ambassadors for this academic year:

Name: Abhishek Singh
Program: Information Security, EDC
Country of Origin: India

I am Abhishek, an Information Security student by day and a caffeine-fueled tech nerd by night. Originally from India, I’m currently figuring out how to survive Winnipeg winters without turning into a snowman. With a background in computer science, I’m passionate about making the digital world safer for everyone.

When I am not diving into firewalls and encryption, you’ll find me lifting weights at the gym, throwing punches in boxing class, or swimming laps to unwind. I also love having meaningful conversations, so if you’ve got cool ideas, questions, or just need to talk, feel free to stop me anytime. I am always up for a good chat.

As your International Student Ambassador, I am excited to be part of your journey this year. Let’s make it a great one!

Name: Oyin M.O Kaka
Program: IT Operations, EDC
Country of Origin: Nigeria

I have a passion for concerts, I use it to connect with people while promoting inclusion and community. I am an adventurous person, I love dancing/moving, trying new foods, reading, sports, and travelling. With this position, I hope to support fellow students by sharing my experiences and promoting community culture.

Name: Kaila Tiongson
Program: Business Administration – Accounting, NDC
Country of Origin: Philippines

“In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”

I am an active volunteer and a peer tutor in school, and I truly love connecting with people and helping them feel welcomed and supported. In my free time, I find joy in cooking meals that remind me of home, journaling my thoughts and feelings, and watching series. As an International Student Ambassador, I want to create a space where students feel safe, heard, and valued. I’ve faced my own challenges and know what it feels like to struggle and feel unseen, but I keep moving forward, and I am still a work in progress in all aspects of my life. I hope to encourage others to share their stories as their testimonies, showing that even when life isn’t perfect, it can still be beautiful. I want to help build a community where everyone feels they truly belong and can support one another through the ups and downs of life.

Name: Ehab Ahmed Mahmoud
Program: Science Laboratory Technology, NDC
Country of Origin: Egypt

I’ve always loved exploring historical places as they connect us to different cultures and stories from the past. I also enjoy spending time in nature — watching the sunset makes me feel relaxed, especially after a long day.

Outside of school, I practice Taekwondo, which helps me stay active and focused. I really enjoy meeting new people, learning about different backgrounds, and building meaningful friendships. As an ambassador, I look forward to helping other students feel welcome and supported in our community.

Name: Jueun Yang
Program: Full Stack Web Development, EDC
Country of Origin: South Korea

I have always loved exploring different kinds of culture through films, literature, and travel. These experiences have helped me see the world from new perspectives and appreciate the creativity that comes from diverse backgrounds. As an International Student Ambassador, I hope to support new students in settling in at RRC and help build an inclusive, welcoming community where everyone feels connected.

Name: Cynthia Ramirez Lazo
Program: Hospitality and Tourism Management, EDC
Country of Origin: Ecuador

I am 28 years old and passionate about traveling. I even had the opportunity to complete a world tour to almost all countries and live in different parts of the world. I am always ready for a new adventure, and right now I am living a new chapter of my life in Canada.

I love dancing, listening to music, and organizing activities and events. As an International Student Ambassador, my goal is to make all international students feel welcomed in their new home. I want to create events where we can connect, share experiences, and maybe even find that friend from your home country who makes you feel a little more at home.
