Beware of Fraudulent Job Postings!

As we approach program graduation and summer break, scammers are actively targeting students searching for summer jobs and graduate opportunities. Stay vigilant and be cautious of suspicious job offers!

Watch for These Red Flags:

  • You receive a job offer without applying or interviewing.
  • You are promised high pay for easy work.
  • You are asked to use your bank account to conduct business for them.
  • You are asked to pay for training, software, or materials.
  • You are told to buy gift cards or other items using your own money.

Many scammers now have professional-looking websites with matching email domains, making it harder to identify their legitimacy.

What You Can Do:

  • Research the company. Check their website, social media, and online presence.
  • Verify the employer’s contact details and confirm their location on the map.
  • Never share personal or banking information unless you are certain the job is legitimate.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is.
