Revised English Language Requirements for International Admissions at RRC Polytech

We are pleased to announce an important update to RRC Polytech’s English Language Requirements (ELR) for international student admissions. These changes simplify and lower minimum ELR scores for most PGWP-eligible programs, making admissions more accessible to prospective students.

Key Changes:

1. Standardized Requirements Across Program Types:
   English language requirements (ELRs) are now grouped into three categories for simplicity:
   • Certificates, Diplomas, and Advanced Diplomas
   • Bachelor’s Degrees and Creative Communications
   • Nursing and Allied Health Programs
2. Lowered Minimum Scores:
   Minimum scores have been reduced for many programs. For instance, the IELTS requirement for Certificates and Diplomas has been lowered from 6.5 to 6.0 overall. Please refer to the attached document for a detailed breakdown of test scores by program type, approved proficiency tests, and minimum requirements.
3. Implementation Timeline:
   • Effective Date: February 1, 2025
   • All new or already submitted applications will be evaluated using the updated requirements from this date.
   • Applications submitted before February 1, 2025, will be evaluated using the new English Language Requirements if they are more favorable to the applicant.
