Tiny Terrors: Exploring the Biting Insects of Manitoba Workshop – Wednesday, March 20, 12PM

Anyone who has spent any time in Manitoba, knows that the provinces mascot is the mosquito. We have all run from the swarms of mosquitoes into tall grass in the hopes of relief, only to find ticks questing to hitch a ride on our clothing. The only relief that can be found is by bathing in bug spray or hiding away in our homes, until the first frost.

But in our homes, lying in wait, could be other insects waiting for us. Lice and bedbugs, one attracted to our luscious locks, and the other feasting on any exposed skin while we sleep. There is hope, learn to recognize these common Manitoba pests, identify the diseases they carry, and discover ways of limiting exposure.

Join presenter, Syd Shukla Bergen, BSc and Master of Science in Entomology student to learn to recognize common Manitoba pests, identify the diseases they carry, and discover ways of limiting exposure.
