Please join us in celebrating International Education Week – November 20-24!

International education brings diversity and global perspectives inherent to the success of our communities in the globalized world. Please join us in celebrating International Education Week – November 20-24!

Every year, RRC Polytech welcomes over 2,600 international students from 61 countries to pursue full-time academic studies. International students at the College are valued and recognized for their contributions, including enriching our campus life and the educational experiences of all students. They build intercultural connections with their communities and partners worldwide through global education.

The Centre for International Education and Global Partnerships(CIEGP) and alongside various departments provide support services that promote academic and personal success, which are vital to their learning experiences. To stay up-to-date on what we are doing to support our international students, please subscribe to International and Immigrant Student News.

Beyond welcoming students, CIEGP facilitates the Outbound Student Mobility Program, offering Canadian students the opportunity to study or work abroad. Funding from the federal government has helped RRC Polytech support this initiative for the last five years. This program is designed to equip students with knowledge, skills, and intercultural competencies while fostering international networks. Priority is given to underrepresented groups, indigenous students, low-income students, and those with disabilities, ensuring equitable access to these life-changing opportunities.

Earlier this year, 12 Transportation Technology students embarked on a journey to partner institutions in Jamaica and Finland. Not only did this experience fulfill their program’s work experience requirement, but it also exposed them to on-site training and cultural exploration. Read more about this program and the positive impact it has had on our students here.

Last Friday, a group of 12 students from Nursing and Early Childhood Education ventured to Denmark for a 10-day exploration—an opportunity to broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of the world.

Currently, we are proud to host three students from our partnership with the Consortium of Vocational Colleges in Finland. While studying in the Transportation Heavy Apprenticeship Trades Program, these students also took part in the full Canadian experience. From football games to local tourist destinations and hikes in Whiteshell Provincial Park, their experience is an embodiment of the rich cultural exchange facilitated by our international partnerships.  Stay tuned for their interview on Where’s Watson? to gain insights into their experiences.

At RRC Polytech, International Education Week is more than a celebration; it’s a testament to our commitment to fostering a globalized, interconnected community. In addition, RRC Polytech is celebrating its 30th year of International Education this year. Let us embrace the diverse perspectives and enriching experiences that international education brings to our institution and beyond.
